Absolute and Radio 2 shows postponed

The Manic Street Preachers have very reluctantly been forced to cancel two radio shows scheduled for this week due to vocalist James Dean Bradfield being diagnosed with laryngitis.   The band had to postpone several dates on their recent UK tour for the same reason on doctor’s orders, however he did recover sufficiently in order to finish the tour in Carlisle.   The band have just completed a trip to Australia and Japan and James has been advised to rest in order to not prolong the illness or cause permanent damage.   Both shows will be rescheduled for as soon as possible once James has recovered, check www.manics.co.uk for further details.

The shows were due to take place tonight in London for Absolute Radio and a hometown date in Blackwood, Wales on Thursday (2nd December) for Radio 2, both would have had an invited audience of competition winners and the band would like to sincerely apologise for anybody planning to come to either performance.  The band commented “As our fans know, we absolutely hate cancelling shows, and we are devastated that we have had to do this – we can only say sorry and hope we can make it up to people when James is well again.”
