MANICS EQUIPMENT FOR AUCTION IN SUPPORT OF HAITI

As you already know a major earthquake struck Haiti this month.  Oxfam and Glastonbury are having an online auction for Haiti  to supply aid and give support to the victims.  The Manics have donated some of their stuff to the auction to help raise funds for this cause. If you fancy a piece of Manics history and want to help a great cause in doing so then the links below is where each auction is.  Happy bidding!

Hand Decorated Fender Telecoustic - Hand decorated by Nicky Wire and signed by all the band.

Signed Amp - Customer made for James and signed by all the band.

Red Fender Tornado - Used on 'Masses Against the Classes' and 'Know Your Enemy'.

Dear Manics: I'm from Chile and as you must know my country is suffering the worst natural disaster of our history. I'm just writing you to tell how relevant is that bands like you with a social interest keep spreading the word in the world about how important is being more conscient of nature and as Roger Waters from Pink Floyd said (in a letter he sent to my country) it's very urgent to create a global trust fund for natural disasters specially for countries that really needs monetary support like Haiti. We often hear celebrities sending good vibes to countries that suffered disasters but that's it, obviously you could never imagine how hard it is until you actually live it. I wish nobody has to live something like this never, but we have to be prepared always and I'm writing you because as I'm a big fan of yours, I know how interested you are and have being in politics and that stuff and if you keep sending this kind of message sooner or later it going to help like putting your t

Thanks Lonely Wreckage

for letting us know. Signed petition as it seems an important one for the beeb to be aware of & I think I've actually listened ot its programmes over the internet. Much as one moans about the BBC it is good to have a completely public service broadcast - I think we're one of the only countries in the world to have one. Also Radio 1 was where I first heard the Manics back in 1993.

Save BBC6 Radio!

This station is the only bit of the BBC that showcases unsigned bands and is exclusively an eclectic mix of old skool and current alternative sounds. One of last year's highlights was a discussion about late 80s/early 90s indie rock between James Dean Bradfield and Steve Lamacq. They sounded like two good friends in a pub.

Apparently, the BBC Director General is open to a rethink. The petition below has 49, 113 signatures so far.

Nicky,

Your apologies just prove that you're a true gentleman, which deserves admiration, and your courage too. Not that many artists are capable of acknowledging their own mistakes. Well done!

Don't apologise. Nicky should really do Come Dine With Me. Can you imagine how pissed he'd get . He'd start on about his politics degree it'd be sooo entertaining. Not to mention the fellow diners having a field day going through his sock drawer upstairs while he tried to fry scallops. Maybe Ed O'Brien knows of a Butler he can hire.........

Aaaah, MANY THANKS Nicky!!!! - such a sweet & humble apology is far more than one would expect from the average popstar. I've really enjoyed seeing you live in the past & that's endeared me even more to the Manics! Your wife & children WILL be relieved.

Should maybe check out some of the books you recommend if time permits.

Love Mishmash75

Can't wait to see you all again.
P.s- As you were a big fan of Cherry Ghost I thought you might like to check out AA Bondy. He is incredible. Check out the studio sessions on you tube. Maybe next support act? XXX

Happy Birthday James - you are a VERY talented musician whose work for theatre should reach more people.
As for Mr Wirestarter - any chance of a charity swearbox/ resolve to try & stop being argumentative?!? At least us women are sisters under the skin.

Manics aren't even my favourite band - (how can they be when Massive Attack will always be there for us) but have a grudging respect for them & James I know you've worked with Del Naj. Heligoland rules ...
