Great list in general; I'm a huge Izzy fan, and nice to see so many Scotsmen (exiled or otherwise) in there, but love him or loathe him, John Lennon is the most influential rhythm guitarist ever.
I can't help but agree with putting Izzy at the top of the list. Not only was he a fine guitar player, but he was a great song writer. It is no coincidence that G N R began to fall apart after he left the band.
Agree that Izzy Stradlin is a top rhythm guitarist, i had the honour of seeing Izzy's solo gig at the Glasgow barrowlands, dec 92 (i think), will never forget that day, i was only 13 years old (bless) it was my first ever gig, and i got to meet Izzy outside!
Izzy is indeed one cool dude. His solo albums are all bum awful though. Why did he turn down that offer to join Velvet Revolver? Loyality to Mr Rose etc., I suppose.
IMPERIAL BODYBAGS - I'm here to continue my campaign to persuade the Manics that this SHOULD be the 3rd single from SATT!!
Ignore the commercially safe chartable single of Columbia/ Sony's wishes..... go for the rocked out, anti-war, socially & politiacally aware song that the unsuspecting chart listening public will least expect!!
Come on Boys, let's have some fire in those bellies again..... hear the voice of the people screaming - ROCK MUSIC!!
