The Manic's fourth studio album, and their first after Richey James Edwards' disappearance. This marked a great change in musical style for the band, moving away from the hard-rock sound that punctuated their three previous albums and towards a more radio-friendly, orchestrated Britpop sound, and lyrical focus moved towards more political and grandiose themes (though Edwards' lyrics were used in five of the albums tracks). The change paid off, as the album hit #2 in the UK charts. Four singles were taken from the album - "A Design For Life", "Everything Must Go", "Kevin Carter" and "Australia", all of them reaching the top ten in the UK singles charts.
